Fabric & Garment Care Guide
Treat your GAG ME pieces according to their fabric, fit and decoration. Not every print or silhouette needs the same wash cycle. Always prioritise the garment label and the care instructions on the particular product page.
Cotton graphic tees
Several current GAG ME graphic T-shirts list cotton, screen printing and fabric weights around 240 GSM, with instructions to machine wash inside out and dry or iron inside out. Turning a printed tee inside out may help reduce abrasion against its graphic. Avoid harsh scrubbing or unnecessary stretching, particularly around necklines, print surfaces and seams.
Regular polyester jerseys
Many of the current non-ruched jerseys identify polyester jersey fabric, a 200 GSM construction and digital prints. Some list machine-wash-only care. Use the method specified for that particular garment and protect prints from direct abrasion or unnecessary high heat.
Made-to-order Ruched Jerseys
Ruched styles use gathered construction and may have different washing requirements. Selected made-to-order ruched jersey product listings specify hand wash only. Handle the gathered areas carefully: do not twist or pull them excessively, and follow the label's drying instructions. These items have separate routine exchange and return restrictions.
Acid-washed and embellished designs
Special treatments such as acid washing, contrast effects or rhinestone detailing warrant extra care. Check the individual piece's washing directions before laundering; avoid rubbing embellishments or exposing delicate decoration to direct iron heat. If a product specifies additional restrictions, follow those instead of general advice.
What GSM means
GSM is grams per square metre and indicates fabric weight. Higher numbers generally mean more fabric mass per square metre, but weight alone does not establish softness, durability, stretch or quality. Material composition, finish and garment construction also affect how a product feels and wears.
Drying, ironing and storage
Dry or iron garments only as their labels permit. Turn decorated clothing inside out where specified, keep direct heat away from prints or rhinestones, and avoid storing heavy or gathered pieces in a way that stretches their shape. Do not assume that every polyester or cotton piece accepts identical heat settings.
If a care label is unclear
Send the product name and a photo of its label to gagmestudios@gmail.com before washing. If a newly delivered item appears defective, photograph it and report the concern before wearing, washing or attempting a repair, so the issue can be reviewed under the store policy.
